Under 17s

Jack Andrews Jack Andrews
Date of Birth: October 15, 1993
Position: Centre/Left Back
The Mansfield-born defender now lives in Selston and has been with the Forest Academy since he was a ten year old.
He was originally regarded as a central midfield player but these days operates as a central defender of left back.
Outside of football he played table tennis at county school level and enjoys boxing but football is his first love and was delighted to get the chance to play with the first team in our pre-season game at Tranmere.

Patrick Bamford Patrick Bamford
Date of Birth: September 5, 1993
Position: Striker/Left Midfield
The Nottingham High School student, who lives in Norwell near Newark, is completing his A levels at school while training part-time at The City Ground.
Patrick, who has two sisters who are regional and international hockey players, joined the Forest Academy as an eight year old and formerly played for Muskham Cougars.
Although concentrating on his football career, he was a county level tennis player and also has a musical background, playing piano, saxophone and violin.

Scott Furlong Scott Furlong
Date of Birth: December 27, 1993
Position: Goalkeeper
The young goalkeeper from Rugeley in Staffordshire, came through the junior ranks at Aston Villa, Wolves and West Brom before joining Forest as a 16 year old.
He was a member of Cardinal Griffin Handball team, which won the national club championship in 2009, and was a potential international player before football took the leading role in his sporting life.
He's an Aston Villa fan but was delighted to get the chance to join the full-time ranks at The City Ground.

Jamaal Lascelles Jamaal Lascelles
Date of Birth: November 11, 1993
Position: Centre Back
The highly-rated central defender from Derby, where he attended the West Park Community School, had a big interest in basketball before concentrating on his football career.
His older brother is an England international basketball player and Jamaal himself played for Derby Trailblazers, the East Midlands and was about to trial for England.
His rich potential was underlined in pre-season when he played 90 minutes in Forest's senior friendly with Mansfield Town and helped them to a 2-1 victory at Field Mill.

Ryan Markey Ryan Markey
Date of Birth: October 4, 1993
Position: Wide Left
He was born in County Louth - an hour from Dublin - and played for Shelbourne as a junior before joining us as a 15 year old.
Ryan comes from a sporting family and he himself also played rugby and Gaelic football before settling on football as his main pursuit.
He represented Dublin District and went on to play for the Republic of Ireland at Under 15 level on a handful of occasions.

David Morgan David Morgan
Date of Birth: July 4, 1994
Position: Centre Midfield
The Belfast-born midfielder played for Ards youth team before joining us as a 15 year old and combining his football career with further education.
He played for County Down as a midfielder in Gaelic football but football took priority in his sporting life and he won 15 caps for Northern Ireland at youth level.
David was also selected for the Northern Ireland side to play Slovakia at Under 17 level.

Ben Osborn Ben Osborn
Date of Birth: August 5, 1994
Position: Left Back
Another product of West Park School in Spondon, he joined Forest as nine year old and is in his first year with the Academy, making his debut in our first game of the season against Cardiff.
Although he has occasionally played in midfield, he is regarded as an orthodox left back and is following the in the footsteps of his grandfather, who played for Barrow.
Like Joe Swindell, he is a Derby County fan but we try not to hold that against them!

David Papworth David Papworth
Date of Birth: September 28, 1993
Position: Left Back
The Arnold youngster - he attended Arnold Hill School - has been associated with Forest since he was six, entering the Academy as a nine year old.
He originally started his football life as a striker but has since switched into midfield, where he is looking to make an impression.
Outside of football his sporting interests playing the odd round of golf with his dad and improving his skills on the snooker table.

Joe Swindell Joe Swindell
Date of Birth: February 24, 1994
Position: Striker
The Derby-born goalscorer went to West Park School in Spondon and was spotted by Forest as a 12 year old playing for Spondon Rovers.
He went on to play for Derby Boys and, whisper it quietly, he still supports Derby County and goes to watch them when the opportunity presents itself.
Joe is in his first year in the Academy and scored on his debut against Cardiff in the opening match of the season.

Ryan Tinsley Ryan Tinsley
Date of Birth: April 29, 1994
Position: Centre Fwd/Midfield
He can operate as a midfielder or striker and played for Pelican Colts for two years before joining Forest as a 16 year old.
He was a pupil at Bigwood School and captained the school team as they won city cups for two successive years.
Ryan is something of an all-round sportsman, enjoying athletics - he represented the county in the 200 metres - and tennis.

Under 18s

Kostakis Artymatas Kostakis Artymatas
Date of Birth: April 15, 1993
Position: Centre Midfield
Born in Pavalimni in the West of Cyprus, he played for ENPFC until he was 15 and invited to The City Ground for trials following which he was offered a contract.
The central midfield man has played for his country at Under 17 and Under 19 level, has played in the European Championships and had a highlight moment in scoring the winner against Rumania last season.
Since arriving in England his English has developed well and Kostakis is now doing 'A' level work and on the way to becoming a qualified coach.
Neill Byrne Neill Byrne
Date of Birth: February 2, 1993
Position: Centre Back
Another Dubliner on the Forest staff, he played for Portmarnock and Belvedere before joining Forest as a 14 year old.
Despite interest from other clubs he joined The City Ground Academy apprenticeship scheme two years later and is now in his second year. Earlier this season he represented the Republic of Ireland against the Czech Republic.
Away from football, he has settled well in Nottingham and enjoys a game of golf in his spare time.
Jordan Kay Jordan Kay
Date of Birth: September 23, 1992
Position: Right Back
The Nottingham-born defender attended Toot Hill School, Bingham, and played for Cotgrave Colts until he was eight, when he joined the Forest Academy.
He was a member of the Under 15 school team that won the Forest Bowl, has played tournament football in France and is now looking to earn a contract at the club.
Jordan added considerably to his experience by playing for the first team in a pre-season friendly at Mansfield prior to the start of the current campaign.
Dimitris Kyprianou Dimitris Kyprianou
Date of Birth: February 2, 1993
Position: Centre Midfield
The Limassol-born midfielder joined the Academy when he was 16 after several trial periods. He has played for Cyprus at Under 17 and Under 19 level and has experience of representing his country in Italy, Turkey and Rumania.
Now in his second year, his English is improving as he continues his A level sports studies and he is looking to earn a contract at the club.
Dimitris enjoys life in the club hostel but gets home every three months to enjoy Mediterranean food and sunshine.
Konstantinos Laifis Konstantinos Laifis
Date of Birth: May 19, 1993
Position: Wide Left
The Cypriot winger is in the second year of his apprenticeship at The City Ground and working hard to break into the Academy side on a regular basis.
He has represented Cyprus at Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 levels and is warming to the mental and physical challenge of playing in English football.
Konstantinos is also mastering the English language as he copes with the demands of the Apprenticeship scheme. He has started work on his coaching badge as well as working towards his technical certificate.
Daniel Meadows Daniel Meadows
Date of Birth: September 26, 1992
Position: Centre Midfield
He was born in Grantham, attended Grove School in Newark and played for Coddington Tigers and RHP Colts before joining Forest as a ten year old.
He is in his second year, captaining the Under 18 side and gained major benefit from figuring in the first team in a pre-season friendly against Tranmere.
As an attacking midfielder, Danny, whose father played local football, enjoys watching the way Arsenal play. Away from football one of his hobbies is playing pool.

Sam Benjamin
Date of Birth: December 21, 1992
Position: Left Back
Born in Leicester, he attended St. Paul's RC School and played for Stanton FC. When he was 11 he joined the Forest Academy.
Sam is a recognised left back and enjoys both the defensive and attacking duties that the role demands in the modern game.
Away from football, he is tackling his Modern Apprenticeship programme, which includes A level work, but he is focussed on earning a professional contract.

Ben Gathercole
Date of Birth: February 12, 1993
Position: Goalkeeper
He was born and raised in Radcliffe-on-Trent, playing his early football for Radcliffe Olympic. He attended Dayncourt School and was a member of their Forest Bowl winning side.
Ben, whose father was a good local player, had six years with Notts County before joining us as a 13 year old.
Now in his second year he is competing for the Under 18 Academy spot and striving to earn a professional contract.

Darragh Reynor
Date of Birth: February 14, 1993
Position: Centre Midfield
The Dubliner played for Crumlin, Forest's partner club in Ireland, before linking up with The Reds as a 15 year old.
He's now in the second year of his apprenticeship, getting more opportunities with the Under 18 side and played for the first team in a pre-season friendly at Mansfield.
Darragh comes from a footballing background - his dad having played for Bohemians - but he has also played Gaelic football and hurling in his time.
