Over 30 teams took to the course at Notts Golf Club yesterday for the 2012 Nottingham Forest Golf Day.

Incessant wind and rain in the mid-to-latter part of the day only added to Hollinwell’s dramatic backdrop, and certainly didn’t dampen spirits as club partners and local businesses battled it out in the Stableford competition.

Also in attendance were Forest players Lewis McGugan, Chris Cohen, Brendan Moloney and Henri Lansbury.

A number of prizes were on offer to the day’s best performers and it was Steven Holdstock, Paul Collins and Gary Hartley, of XACT, who scooped the trophy and decanter set with a score of 79 points.

In second place were Compliance Surveys Ltd and their team of Adam Grundy, Tony Bishop and Jonathon Vardy, whose score of 77 points won them a place in an Executive Box for an upcoming game at The City Ground.

In third, and winning two tickets each for matchday hospitality in the Castle Club, were Neil Barker, Steve Shaw and Graham Price (76 points).

And fourth place went to Colin Dixon, Steve Goff and Vince Clark from Telecom Connections, who won the Forest bootbags and club covers with a score of 75 points.

The best NFFC team, with a score of 77 points, comprised Nick Marshall, Richard Meek and Ian Woan, who each won a Hollinwell shirt.

And Meek tasted double glory when his tee shot at the 5th earned him the Nearest the Pin title, while Derek Ramsay took the Longest Drive accolade.

Forest Commercial Manager, Joe Sharphouse, said: “I would like to thank Hollinwell’s captain, Paul Newman and all of the staff for making the day such a success. Despite the weather, the course was pristine and the warm hospitality we received was greatly appreciated.

“My thanks also go to all participating teams and I look forward to welcoming winners of our hospitality packages to The City Ground in the near future.”
